Lasers can diminish many signs of aging -
from early wrinkles and age spots to deep lines and spider veins.
The system we rely on is the Quanta Light Series Laser Platform, the most advanced system of its kind.
It allows the clinical staff at Clarity Medical Aesthetics to choose the specific wavelength of light and
delivery method that will optimize results, reduce downtime, and ensure safety to each individual
patient based on their unique skin characteristics and desired results.
What is Laser Rejuvenation?
Laser light passes through skin, effectively heating the skin, which in turn boosts collagen. As we age, our bodies lose collagen, wrinkles begin to form from sagging skin. The heat helps to tighten and lift skin, smoothing out creases.
What Can a Laser Treat?
- Acne
- Age (sun or brown) spots
- Dry, dull skin
- Fine Lines
- Freckles
- Hand rejuvenation (age spots, loose skin, and lines)
- Pore size
- Redness and flushing
- Scars
- Skin Texture (roughness)
- Skin Tone (mottled complexion)
- Spider Veins
- Wrinkles
Do Laser Treatments Hurt?
They can be uncomfortable, but our staff at Clarity will prepare your skin for your specific treatment to minimize the discomfort. The sensation is similar to a snap of a rubber band, done over and over again. The Quanta system comes equipped with a skin "chiller', when appropriate, will be applied to the treatment area just before the procedure to cool skin, dulling the "snap" sensation.
What is the Downtime?
What to Expect After a Laser Treatment?
The downtime varies according to the type of laser/IPL treatment.
Non-ablative - no downtime. Redness immediately following the treatment subsides within hours. Skin will feel tighter, the result of being heated by the laser.
IPL up to 4 days downtime. The area treated will be red immediately following. Red and brown areas will become increasing darker over the course of 3-4 days, Some areas may dry and slough off revealing clearer, glowing skin.
Ablative - about 4 days downtime. The area treated will be intensely red, with some pinpoint bleeding. Skin will feel similar to sunburn. Small pin size scabs may appear and slough off within days after the treatment.
When are Results Seen?
As soon as 4 weeks after your treatment.
What are the Different Types
of Laser/Light Treatments?
Non-ablative Laser Rejuvenation
This means the treatment does not pierce the skin. It is best for treating early signs of aging, as well as achieving and maintaining a youthful glow.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
Although not actually a laser, this light therapy penetrates deeper into the skin than a non-ablative laser. It works best for treating browns and redness, skin texture and aids in reducing pore size. It is also very effective for treating inflammatory acne.
Ablative Laser Rejuvenation
This laser treatment is combined with Micro-Needling treatment immediately following. This treatment breaks the skin, offering deeper rejuvenation, and is best for diminishing signs of aging such as age spots, wrinkles, scarring, tone and texture.
