Laser Hair Removal

We provide the best solution for unwanted hair anywhere on the body using the state of the art Quanta Laser Light System that can treat any skin type. At Clarity, your safety is our primary concern.  All laser treatments are performed by a certified medical professional.

The Quanta advanced laser hair removal system emits a beam of light that passes through the skin, to the hair follicle, where it is absorbed. Upon absorption, the energy is transformed into heat, which can disable the follicle, while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed.  Disabling the follicle prevents new hair growth.

What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction that can eliminate hair anywhere you normally pluck, tweeze, wax or shave.

How does a laser remove hair?

The system emits a laser beam of light that passes through the skin, to the hair follicle, where it is absorbed.  The laser energy damages the follicle, while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed.

What it is recommended for:

Eliminating hair anywhere on the body. Most people experience a 90% reduction in hair in the treated areas. It is not effective at removing red, light blonde or gray hair. It can be done on all skin colors.

What does the treatment involve?

The patient is asked to wear eye protection. A small hand piece or "wand" is placed against the skin while it is being cooled as the laser is activated. The hand piece is repositioned and the laser is activated again. The size or the area treated will determine the number of laser activations, or "pulses", required.

How many sessions are needed?

Our experts recommend a series of 7 treatments spaced 6 weeks apart.

Are there any side effects?

Immediately after the treatment the skin will look pink and slightly swollen, similar to sunburn, and raised red bumps (similar to mosquito bites) will appear.  This will subside within 72 hours and the skin will return to normal. Occasionally, a patient will have temporary pigment changes, blistering, or scabbing. In the unlikely event of blistering, we recommend keeping the area moist with bacitracin .As with electrolysis, cases of scarring have been reported, but these are extremely rare. A test spot is the best determinant of how each individual's skin will react.
